Ranger Ted provides an entertaining, informative and comprehensive outdoor experience for you and your group or family. You must come prepared. Bring appropriate clothing, footwear, water, sunblock, sunshade and carry your cell phone.
90 minute SCHEDULED HIKES rates are: Adults: $20.00 Kids 2-17 $10.00 Kids under 2 years old are FREE. GROUPS OF four persons OR MORE RECEIVE A 5 $ DISCOUNT PER PERSON. Thus, a family of 4 with two kids under 12 would pay just 40 $ total.
Checks, cash or paypal are all acceptable methods of payment. You must reserve your space by clicking BOOK NOW which will link you to Ranger Ted's email. You must fill out a release of liability form before taking any of these hikes. You are encouraged to bring other hiking gear such as binoculars, cameras, nature books, bird call apps or geo caching directions! 1st and 3rd Saturdays
Griffith Park
This loop is a great way to introduce yourself to Griffith Park. We start at the top of Commonwealth Ave and loop up the beautiful Cedar Grove. We continue up toward the Helicopter Pad and from there make a decision on the completion of the loop. This hike has several steep sections and you'll definitley need good shoes or boots and water. This hike is for people who are in decent to good to excellent shape and takes approximately 1 and 1/2 hours to complete.
One word: WATER. It's a precious resource especially in greater Los Angeles. But at the Sepulveda Basin (just off the 405 and 101) water is plentiful! And water always equals greater bio-diversity. Herons, hawks, turtles, geese and lots of other critters! There is no elevation gain on this hike. Rather it's a nice, moderate loop around the large lake/ basin. Plenty of other opportunities here for kids and families too as there is a large park, playgrounds, archery, model airplane field and plenty of geo caches. I highly recommend this hike for anyone with smaller children or people looking for a more restful walk / adventure.

Hike Above the Hollywood Sign

Ranger Ted is the only guide who shows you the view from ABOVE the Hollywood sign! This is an ADULT hike or for kids 12 and over in good shape. It's a moderate to strenuous hike that is approximately 1 and 1/2 hours to 2 hours in length. We meet above the Lake Hollywood Reservoir every Wednesday morning at 930 am. Park and meet at the corner of Wonderview drive and Lake Hollywood Drive.
